Film Poster Analysis
1 - in my opinion this looks like a sci-fi, action and drama film aimed at the middle age generation. i think the film is about a character in the future who is trying to escape conflict within the city. the yellow shades of colour surrounding the man and the city shows how he's trying the over throw the darkness surrounding him. the white lights around the city could symbolise all eyes are on him.
2 - in my opinion this looks like a horror film that has comedy aspects to it. i think this film is about a group of people who have traumatic experiences within similar surroundings. the characters at the top could represent them being the main obstacle the 3 characters face. the facial expression from the male at the bottom could represent his being overpowered which has caused him to raise his hands to try and defend himself. having 'scary movie' in red could symbolise blood which could consequently result in an individual dying.
3 - in my opinion this looks like a dram film. i think the film is about a man who has been caught up in a hostile environment which has forced him to lose what he once loved. the white ice could represent his heart turning cold. the clouds drifting from white to black could suggest his emotions overpowering the morals and rational thinking. the thick smoke coming out the chimney could represent how one small obstacle could lead to someone becoming emotionally unstable with himself and the surroundings which he lives in.
4 - in my opinion this looks like a horror film. i think the film is about a boy being enticed into a dark hole by an unknown being hidden below. the radiant film name that appears to have fire within it looks as if its being trapped by the darkness. the darkness having most of the space in comparison the like makes it seem as if it's almost like a test of faith for the young boy.
5 - in my opinion this looks like an action film. i think this film is about a group of contact killers who have been giving a task to kill a client. the film name 'sin city' being in red lets could represent blood being spilled from their victims. making the five individuals appear to be looking down on the client makes him look more inferior.
6 - in my opinion this looks like a drama film that may have sense of action within it. the gun that the character on the left is carrying could be used to portray his masculine nature. the skull could be used to represent death as we associate this image with dead or decomposed bodies. the film name 'pirates of the Caribbean' looks to have to placed within a scroll to suggest there could be an aspect of finding treasure within the film.
7 - in my opinion this looks like a romance film where two individuals get married. the clear blue sky could symbolise the couple have a fresh start like a blank page. making the two characters bigger than the audience makes the viewer focus on the them because they stand out more. on the left hand side of the couple the crowd looks like it has some people who are happy for them and one in particular female who doesn't. on the rights looks as if the older generation are proud of the decision she's made with going along with the marriage. the prejudice aspect of the film could be about a number of females wishing they were in the same position as her due to the new wealth and status she'll be acquiring.
8 - in my opinion this looks like a mystery, action and drama film. making the women the centre of attention could be used to show how the director is focusing the film revolving around her. having her back towards the audience could show how she's afraid to show her face to the public. this could imply that she is hiding from the eyes of the world. the two small images at the top of the poster could symbolise good vs evil. they could be trying to test her fait to see which path she chooses to take.
